This will keep him occupied for most of the year. If all goes well, filming for ‘The Movie Critic’ might start late this year or early 2025.

‘The Movie Critic‘: A Brief Look At Film Director Quentin Tarantino’s Final Masterpiece
The famous director, Quentin Tarantino is working on his last and tenth movie, ‘The Movie Critic.’ People are very interested in it as the movie creates excitement because it’s Tarantino’s final film and has a unique story set in the 1970s. The plot revolves around a critic who reviews p*rnographic movies. The production was supposed to start in 2023, but there were delays because of strikes by SAG-AFTRA and WGA.
Tarantino shared with Deadline at Cannes in May that the main character in his movie is based on a real person, someone he knew back in the 1970s. When Quentin Tarantino was a teenager, he had a job restocking a vending machine with adult magazines. Even though it might not have been legal for a teen, Tarantino admired the writing of a film critic for a “p*rno rag” (adult magazine) whom he doesn’t want to name.
He said, “He [the critic] wrote about mainstream movies. He was the second-string critic, and I think he was very good at writing criticism. He was as cynical as hell. His reviews were a cross between early Howard Stern and what Travis Bickle might be if he were a film critic.”
Tarantino continued, “He wrote like he was 55, but only in his early to mid-30s. He [the critic] died in his late 30s. It wasn’t clear for a while, but now I’ve researched more. I think it was it was complications due to alcoholism.”
In May 2023, Tarantino clarified that The New Yorker film critic does not inspire his film, as some rumors suggested, but is indeed based on the man who wrote reviews for an adult magazine. The film ‘Pulp Fiction’ director had previously mentioned that he planned to retire at 60, and now, as he is in his 60s, this movie will be his last as a director, completing his goal of making ten films.
